Lauren Chenevert is a 4th year interior design student enrolled in the CIDA accredited School of Interior Design at Louisiana State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.

Born and raised in Louisiana, Lauren takes inspiration from her southern roots to try and incorporate personal touches to her projects, whether its a local artist’s piece of art or design choices inspired by biophilic elements found in the state. As a certified WELL AP, Lauren is also passionate about creating spaces that supports sustainable practices while also making the users feel welcomed and inspired.

Creating healthy spaces that supports the community is crucial to helping her during design decision processes. Her design style is currently inspired by a mixture of Parisian architectural elements (such as ornate crown molding), mid-century modern shapes and textures, and organic elements that provide an artisan feel in the space.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys painting, thrift shopping, antiquing, traveling, and cooking or baking. If she is traveling to a new city, Lauren enjoys exploring local art museums, trying the local cuisine, and taking in the city’s views whether its the people, local architecture and design, fashion choices, or the natural scenery.

Fun fact: Lauren’s last name, Chenevert (pronounced “shin-NUH-vehr”), in French, translates to “green oak” so that’s where the website name “Green Oak Designs” comes from!

“The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live. It is about the realities of what makes for an attractive, civilized, meaningful environment, not about fashion or what's in or what's out.”
